My PyCon DE & PyData experience

This was my first time in Germany—and what an experience it was! I landed in the lovely city of Darmstadt, and literally pulled up to the Humble Data Workshop on the same day I arrived.
Was I late? Yup. But also... I was the only one who showed up that day 😅. Honestly, that made it even more memorable! The vibes were great, and it was a perfect way to kick things off.
The conference itself was packed with insightful technical talks. I soaked up so much knowledge, from machine learning to data engineering and more. I even got to chair a few sessions, which was a cool behind-the-scenes experience and helped me appreciate how much effort goes into running an event like this.
One thing that really stood out to me was the enthusiasm of the community. People showed up in large numbers and were genuinely excited to connect, share, and learn. The organizers absolutely nailed it—everything was smooth, well-planned, and super welcoming.
Some quick suggestions for next time:
- Would love to see sprints scheduled after the main conference—it gives everyone time to fully engage without missing talks.
- Workshops and talks shouldn't overlap if possible. It's tough having to choose between them!
Overall, PyCon DE & PyData was a blast. Learned a ton, met awesome people, and left feeling super inspired.
See you all next year! 🙌
